True Hardware in the Loop (trueHWIL) Simulator
Delivers More Complete, Higher Fidelity Simulation
January 7, 2008
MicroPilot's new True Hardware in the Loop (trueHWILmp)
simulator will be of interest to larger companies who are looking for
a more complete and higher fidelity simulation.
Unlike existing quasi hardware-in-the-loop simulators that use a
serial communications port to transmit sensor information to the autopilot,
the trueHWILmp uses analog-to-digital converters to simulate
sensor signals. This provides the highest possible simulation fidelity,
as exactly the same code executes in the simulated autopilot as executes
in the real autopilot are used.
Available for both the MP2028g and MP2128g
autopilots, the trueHWIL simulator allows the UAV developer to use a
MATLAB-based simulator and includes a Simulink blockset suitable for
simulating a fixed-wing UAV.
